SPARK, the six-year-old learning management system for on-campus courses at UMass Amherst, is going away at the end of the Fall 2012 semester. Blackboard Vista, the software behind SPARK, is no longer supported by Blackboard Inc. After the campus license expires at the end of December, files and data stored on SPARK will not be accessible.

Grades are due on Dec 24. The campus is closed on Dec 25 and from December 28 through January 1. Therefore, we recommend that instructors back up their files and data from SPARK as soon as possible, ideally by December 21.

There are a number of ways you can get your materials out of SPARK, for more information see: "Move Your Course Materials Out of SPARK"
