This is a workshop for new Teaching Assistants in the M.A. and Ph.D. Programs in Comparative Literature and Translation Studies. The workshop introduces new TA's to a variety of responses to the challenges they face in the classroom, in the evaluation of student assignments, and in their own practice as discussion leaders, as well as addressing matters concerning the learning environment. The workshop also provides a space for sharing one's own teaching experience with others who face similar challenges. Invited guests include staff from the Ombuds Office and from Disabilities Services as well as Teaching Associates in the Programs in Comparative Literature. The workshop is led and organized by Prof. William Moebius, who has more than fifty years of experience in the university classroom.
